Many Americans rely on devices and medicines manufactured by large pharmaceutical companies for health and wellness. Sometimes drug companies know the harmful side effects of drugs that produce but do not warn the public to respect. T
he Federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA, for its acronym in English) regulates the production and sale of drugs, but usually only take action to remove a drug from the market after its dangerous effects are discovered. This can result in injury or death before a dangerous drug from the market withdrawal occurs.
Generally, it is thought that the FDA conducts all testing of drugs and devices, but this is not always the case. Sometimes laboratories are funded by drug manufacturers those conducting the tests. This, coupled with the inability to determine the side effects of long-term medication, can have disastrous consequences.
